Hughes, Airtel reveal JV to offer satellite broadband in India

Hughes Communications India (HCIPL), a majority-owned subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, and telecom driver Bharti Airtel on Wednesday revealed a joint venture to provide satellite broadband solutions in India, the former stated in a declaration.

Accordingly, the arrangement, announced in May 2019, has received all legal approvals, consisting of the National Company Legislation Tribunal (NCLT) and Department of Telecom, the declaration stated.
