Now that the dust has settled on the Indian arrivals of the OnePlus 11 5G and OnePlus 11R 5G, we’re now getting more confirmation on the latter’s software/security support duration. The company has previously mentioned that the OnePlus 11 would get at least five years of security updates and four major Android upgrades. But this information was unavailable for the OnePlus 11R, which is an India exclusive.
The manufacturer has now revealed in response to a Twitter query that the OnePlus 11R would also receive similar treatment as its sibling, i.e., four Android upgrades and five years of security updates. As TOI suggests, the OnePlus 11R should (based on the company’s words) get Android updates until Android 17.

OnePlus 11R specifications, price, and availability
The company’s latest India-centric flagship features a 6.74-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a breezy 120Hz refresh rate. Customers can choose between 128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage paired with 8GB and 16GB of RAM, respectively. Meanwhile, the 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset takes care of the performance side of things.
The 5,000mAh battery pack isn’t the largest in the industry, but the 100W OnePlus SuperVOOC charger bundled with the device ensures the device can be fully recharged in no time.
Customers will find a 16-megapixel selfie camera, plus three cameras on the back — a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary snapper with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera for close-up shots.
Customers can pre-order the OnePlus 11R on February 21, while the sale will commence a week later on the 28th. The two storage/RAM combinations are priced at Rs 39,999 and Rs 44,999, with retailers like Amazon India in addition to the official OnePlus India online store and other retailers. OnePlus offers the smartphone in Galactic Silver and Sonic Blue colour variants.
