One of the highly anticipated releases of this year is the crime-action drama, Rana Naidu. After a long wait, the makers released the trailer and announced the official release details of the show.

Rana Naidu: OTT Release Details

The trailer of Rana Naidu was released in the presence of fans and cast members at a special event held in Mumbai. Fans can watch Rana Naidu on Netflix on March 10, 2023.

Sharing the trailer, Netflix tweeted, “Rana and Venky Mama dhee konte choodalanna, ee feeling Rana Naidu vasthe kaani thaggela ledhu! #RanaNaidu, releasing on March 10.”

Rana Naidu: Cast and Crew

Created by Karan Anshuman and written by Karmanya Anhua, Anany Mody, BVS Ravi and Vaibhav Vishal, Rana Naidu will be presented as a television series directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma. The show is produced under the Locomotive Global banner and is the official adaptation of the popular show Ray Donovan which was released in 2013.

The show stars Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh Daggubati, Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra and Surveen Chawla in pivotal roles. The music was planned by Sangeet-Siddharth and composed by John Stewart Eduri. Jaya Krishna Gummadi has done the cinematography of the film, while Ninad Khanolkar has done the editing along with Manan Ashwin Mehta. Netflix, Viacom CBS and Global Distribution will be jointly distributing the show.

Rana Naidu: Trailer and Premise

As mentioned above, the show is an adaptation of Ray Donovan, the premise of which revolves around “The life of Rana Naidu, the go-to person for everyone in the film industry when they have a problem.” While releasing the trailer, the makers said, “No matter the risks, there is no scandal that Rana Naidu can’t fix! Watch the story of a son who can fix everything but his relationship with his father. Know more about his story soon, only on Netflix!”

The synoposis of the original show, Ray Donovan, created by Ann Biderman, is about “Ray Donovan, a professional “fixer” for the rich and famous in Los Angeles, who can make anyone’s problems disappear except those created by his own family.”

Rana Naidu: Pre-Release buzz

The show was announced in September 2021 by Netflix during the Tudum event, where the team also released glimpses of the show. The filming began in October 2021, and the team wrapped the schedule in May 2022, post which the teaser was released in September 2022. Rana Naidu will release in Hindi and Telugu languages.

Actor Venkatesh, during the press event, shared his thought about the show and the role. Quoting him, the Times of India mentioned, “It was fantastic and really wonderful that I got to work with my nephew Rana, and he has done a wonderful job… It is not the usual kind of family drama. I am not soft with him, and we are not singing songs. This is what people will expect from us to do when we work together. But this is different, and there are some hard-hitting dialogues. It was really nice, and I am really glad that we got to do it.”

Launching the trailer, actor Venkatesh tweeted, “Rana hoga sabka baap, but uska baap toh main hi hoon #RanaNaidu, TRAILER OUT NOW only on @NetflixIndia!”
