Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series is said to be in the works. Last year in February, the South Korean tech giant launched three flagship tablets powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, such as the Galaxy Tab S8, the Galaxy Tab S8+, and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. While these tablets are the most powerful Android tablets, they lack support for dust and water resistance.

As per a report by Sammobile, the Galaxy Tab S9 series will come with an IP rating for dust and water resistance. Here is a look at what to expect from the Tab S9 series.

According to the publication, the Galaxy Tab S9 series will be an IP67-certified device. Readers should note that this is not the first time that Samsung has launched a tablet with an IP rating. The company has already launched a line of Active-branded tablets with an IP rating in the past. For instance, the Galaxy Tab Active 3, which offers an IP68 rating, was made available in 2020 in the global market.

However, the Galaxy Tab S9 will be the first flagship tablet from the brand to arrive with an IP rating. Samsung has been offering IP ratings on its flagship phones for a couple of years, and now it will also be available on its flagship tablet.

Coming back to the Tab S9 series, the rumour mill is yet to spill information on its specifications. Considering that it will be a top-of-the-line series, it may feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The Tab S9 family is likely to launch in the second half of this year. There is a possibility that it may launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, which are expected to debut in August this year.

In related news, Samsung also seems to be working on a more affordable version of the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The device, dubbed the Galaxy Tab S8 FE, is expected to arrive with key specifications, such as an LCD panel, the Kompanio 900T chipset, 4GB of RAM, and Android 13 OS. It is also expected to arrive with support for the S Pen stylus. In other news, a new leak revealed that Samsung is working on a foldable tablet named the Galaxy Tab Z. While there is no information on its specifications, it is expected to debut in 2024.
