Ace production house, Hats Off Productions, is known for cult shows like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Khichdi and many others. Filmmakers Aatish Kapadia and Jamnadas Majethia (JD) have been known for making remarkable family dramas and comedy shows for the television, and the duo are now set to release their new show, Happy Family: Conditions Apply, this time on an OTT platform.

Viewers can watch Happy Family: Conditions Apply on Prime Video on March 10, 2023. The makers have planned to release the show over several weeks. According to the announcement, the first four episodes will premiere on March 10 followed with 2 episodes releasing every Friday until March 31, 2023.

The how has been written by Aatish Kapadia and directed by  Aatish Kapadia & Jamnadas Majethia (JD). The dup have also produced the show under Hats Off Productions’ banner. Happy Family: Conditions Apply stars popular names like Raj Babbar, Ratna Pathak Shah, Atul Kulkarni, Ayesha Jhulka, Meenal Sahu, Raunaq Kamdar, Sanah Kapur, Ahaan Saboo, Paresh Ganatra, Atul Kumar, Pranoti Pradhan, and Margaret Wanjiku Kariuki.

Sharing the trailer, the makers explained the premise in a quirky manner, and said that, “Dholakias, a family of four generations living under one roof,  navigate the many ups and downs of their lives together. To the world, Dholakias appear to be picture-perfect, but like most families they are dysfunctional;  each one with their own unique quirks,  quibbles and eccentricities. It is in these imperfections that they find the perfect bond that keeps them together.”

Talking about the show, Aatish and JD said, “The Dholakias are a loving-yet-eccentric family that mirror all joint families and the many quirks that we see in them. Through Happy Family: Conditions Apply, the cast and the crew have all come together beautifully to bring our little vision to life.”

Sharing more about his character, veteran actor Raj Babbar said, “Comedy is not a genre I have often dabbled with. Happy Family: Conditions Apply is, in fact, my first out-and-out comedy, and that itself is what made me want to be a part of this series. The series has everything that can be found in any regular family. There’s drama, romance, fighting and making up, playfulness—all of which add to the hilarity of the series.”

“There is a certain joy in playing a character who is unabashedly herself. Hemlata Dholakia is a character who wears her heart on her sleeve, but is always ready with a sassy remark.
