Cashing in on the already successful Chetak e-scooter, Bajaj has launched the Chetak Premium 2023 Edition in the country with a competitive price tag. Among the notable inclusions to the new offering are additional colours plus new exterior materials and an LCD instrument cluster.

The metal body has been retained by the automaker, retaining its iconic look. Moreover, Bajaj has added Charcoal Black finishes to the LED indicators and headlamps. While there’s a marginal increase in range from the predecessor, the motor and battery configuration remain unchanged for the most part.

Bajaj Chetak Premium 2023 Edition specifications

The company has enabled more range on the 2023 iteration of the Chetak Premium by tweaking the battery management system. This, the company claims, has led to a 20% increase in the scooter’s overall range, despite retaining the same 3 kWh battery pack. All of this translates to an ARAI-certified range of 108 km, up from 90km.

A standard charger can recharge the all-new Chetak premium in 4 hours, Bajaj says. Customers will find a 3.8 kW electric motor on board, generating a top speed of up to 60 kmph. The e-scooter will be available in new colours like Satin Black, Matte Caribbean Blue, and Matte Coarse Grey. However, the company will continue to offer existing colours, such as Brooklyn Black, Hazel Nut, Indigo Metallic and Velluto Rosso, 91Mobiles reports.

Bajaj Chetak Premium 2023 Edition price and availability

The new e-scooter refresh will be sold in two variants — a regular Premium version and a 2023 Premium Edition model. The latter will set you back by Rs 1.51 lakhs (ex-showroom), whereas the predecessor features an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1.21 lakhs. Bajaj is accepting bookings for the Chetak Premium 2023 Edition with deliveries expected to begin next month.

Bajaj will make the 2023 Chetak available in 60 Indian cities. The manufacturer has plans to expand availability to 85 cities before the end of this month. The pricing suggests that the Chetak Premium will continue to take on industry stalwarts like the Ather 450X and the Ola S1 Pro.
