Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is said to be in the works. A recent report revealed that the company has started developing the firmware for the Z Fold 5. The firmware files have revealed that its model number is SM-F946.

Rumours are rife that the company will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event in August this year. The event is likely to see the arrival of multiple products, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy Tab S8 FE. The rumour mill has already leaked some of the key specs of the Z Fold 5. In a new tweet, reliable tipster Ice Universe has revealed the size of its external display.

The tipster said that he is aware of most of the specifications and designs of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. He further said that the design of both devices has been finalised and they are going to look similar to their predecessors.

According to the tipster, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will come equipped with a 6.2-inch cover display. To recall, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which debuted last year, has the same sized display, which offers a resolution of 902 x 2,316 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. At present, there is no word on the resolution and refresh rate of the Z Fold 5’s cover display. The tipster also tweeted that the Z Fold 5 will continue to use the same camera module that was seen on the Z Fold 4.

According to previous reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a 7.6-inch foldable AMOLED screen that produces 1,768 x 2,208 pixels of resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The foldable and external displays are both expected to come equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It is expected to feature the 3.36GHz Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which was made available on the Galaxy S23 lineup.

The rear camera setup of the Z Fold 5 may comprise of a 108-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel telephoto snapper with 2x optical zoom. It is expected to come in UFS 4.0 storage choices, such as 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to feature a new hinge that will significantly reduce the crease on the foldable screen. While the device will support an S Pen, it will not have a dedicated slot for it.
