WhatsApp has revealed its new and upcoming features in the latest WhatsApp Beta versions. WhatsApp was recently caught testing expiring groups, split view for Android tablets, mute calls from unknown numbers, calling shortcuts, pinned messages in groups, camera mode switch, chat transfers from iOS to Android, and posting voice notes as status.

Now, WABetaInfo has again spotted new upcoming features in the WhatsApp Beta version, which WhatsApp is currently testing and will be available soon for all users. Let’s talk about these new features.

Admin Approval For Group Invite Link

Isn’t it weird when someone you don’t know or you don’t want joins a group you created and gives out the invite link privately to others? Now, WhatsApp is going to add approvals for new users in a group, joining through a link.

This feature is available in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.18.9 version and WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.5.0.74 version, and group admins can now turn on approve new participants option from the group settings. By turning on this setting, any new user who wants to join a group through a link must be approved by an admin of the group.

21 New Emojis

WhatsApp is rolling out 21 new emojis from Unicode 15.0. WhatsApp is currently testing this on the WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.23.5.13 version.

Users can send these new emojis right from the WhatsApp Emoji selector.

It was previously possible to send these new emojis introduced in Unicode 15.0 using third-party keyboards such as SwiftKey or GBoard. Still, the app has now made it official by incorporating these new emojis within the official keyboard/emoji selector itself.
