Vivo X Flip has been certified by the 3C authority of China. With a major certification under its belt, it appears that the brand could be planning to announce it in April in the home market. Speculations are rife that Vivo’s April event will also see the arrival of the Vivo X Fold 2 foldable phone and the Vivo Pad 2 tablet.

The Vivo X Flip will arrive as Vivo’s first flip phone with a foldable screen. At present, there is no word on whether the device will be released in India. In the Chinese market, it will rival the likes of the OPPO Find N2 Flip, Huawei P50 Pocket, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Motorola Razr 2022.

Rumours are rife that the Vivo device with model number V2256A will debut in China as the Vivo X Flip. Earlier this week, the said device appeared in the database of the Geekbench benchmarking site, and now, it has been approved by China’s 3C authority.

The 3C certification reveals that the Vivo X Flip is a 5G-ready device, and it may ship with a charger with model number V4440L081-CN. The said charger supports up to 44W fast charging.

As per reports, the Vivo X Fold will have a 6.8-inch foldable E6 AMOLED display that offers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The back panel of the device will feature a square-shaped cover display with support for 682 pixels. The device will run on an Origin OS 3-based Android 13 and come equipped with a side-facing fingerprint scanner for security.

Under the hood, the Vivo X Flip will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a 4,400mAh battery with 44W fast charging. The device will offer 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will have a 32-megapixel front camera and a round-shaped camera module above the cover display. The main camera setup of the X Flip will consist of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX866 primary camera and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 ultra-wide snapper.

It is unclear whether it is the Vivo X Fold or X Fold+ that debuted last year or the upcoming X Fold 2. Nevertheless, it does hint that Vivo could be planning to soon enter the foldable phone market in India.
