Popular Indian OTT platforms Disney+ Hotstar, on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi 2023, revealed glimpses of three new shows from the diverse Telugu programming lineup that promises to break new ground. As per reports, the programming spans various genres, including family drama, comedy, crime thriller, and reality TV. The team, towards the end of the previous year, announced a new slate of shows following the platform’s previous successful releases like Unheard, Maestro, Adbhutam, MaaOoriPolimera, SeetiMaar, and Gully Rowdy, which brought unique and varied stories specifically catered to Telugu entertainment fans.

New Telugu Shows on Disney+ Hotstar

Disney+Hotstar Telugu has recently offered a special treat for its subscribers to celebrate the occasion of Ugadi. The streaming platform had previously announced a new slate of shows for the new year. On Ugadi, the team took to social media to share a video with a message that read, “This Ugadi we present to you unlimited entertainment only on #DisneyPlusHotstar! Stay tuned for some exciting content releases in the days to come.”

Dead Pixels

The Telugu adaptation of Dead Pixels was confirmed recently by BBC Studios India and Disney+ Hotstar. The upcoming adaptation will feature talented actors, including Niharika Konidela, Harsha Chemudu, Sai Ronak, Akshay Lagusani, and Bhavana Sagi, in leading roles. The show revolves around a group of friends whose lives revolve around a video game, leading to negative consequences on their mental and social well-being.


Another upcoming Telugu series on Disney+Hotstar is Shaitan, which was announced in 2021. Written and directed by Maahi Raghav, the series is expected to be a thriller.

Save The Tigers

The third and final show teased by Disney+Hotstar is Save The Tigers. Not much information has been revealed about this show, but the glimpses suggest it will be a fun-filled ride for viewers.

Other Popular Telugu Web Series on OTT

Besides the above-mentioned shows, Disney+ Hotstar, towards the end of 2022, announced a new set of Telugu language shows. The announced Telugu line-up included various exciting shows, such as the first-ever original Telugu Hotstar Specials series, Parampara. The series stars Jagapathi Babu, Sharat Kumar, and Naveen Chandra. Additionally, the first Telugu digital-exclusive season of the nation’s favourite reality show BiggBoss Live, will be hosted by King Nagarjuna. The line-up also features 9 Hours, a thrilling bank robbery story directed by Krish and starring Tarak Ratna and Ajay, among others. Another addition to the slate is Jhansi, a high-octane, action-packed web series that stars Anjali in the lead role. It follows the story of an amnesiac woman and doting mother who discovers her true identity and confronts her dark past, making her a reluctant vigilante.
