Motorola Edge 40 and Edge 40 Pro full specifications, renders, and price have been leaked by MySmartPrice. In December 2022, the Lenovo-owned brand launched the Moto X40, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in China. Reports have claimed that the Moto X40 will be rebranded as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in the global market. The new leak confirms that it will indeed be a rebadged version of the X40.

The Motorola Edge 40, on the other hand, will be equipped with a new Dimensity 8000-series chipset. Continue reading ahead to find out what to expect from the Edge 40 duo.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro will have a 6.67-inch curved-edge pOLED panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1,300 nits of brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It will feature a 60-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 12-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip will power the device with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It will house a 4,600mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W wireless power sharing. Its USB Type-C port will offer DisplayPort 1.4 support for Motorola’s Ready For feature. It will measure 161.16 x 74 x 8.59mm and weigh 199 grams.

The Edge 40 Pro price leak by SnoopyTech reveals that it will cost €899 in Europe. It will be available in Quartz Black and Angel Falls colour options.

The Motorola Edge 40’s leaked specifications suggest that it will be the first-ever device to feature the Dimensity 8020 chipset. It will have a 6.55-inch pOLED panel with curved edges. It will also offer an FHD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and 1,200 nits of peak brightness.

The Edge 40 will ship with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will be backed by a 4,400mAh battery that supports 68W rapid charging and 15W wireless charging. It will have a 32-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 13-megapixel (ultra-wide) dual-camera setup on the back.

There is no information on the price of the Motorola Edge 40. However, it is expected to come in four shades, such as Nebula Green, Lunar Blue, Eclipse Black, and Viva Magenta. The leather-backed model of the device will measure 158.43 x 71.99 x 7.58mm and weigh around 171 grams, whereas its acrylic rear variant will have 158.43 x 71.99 x 7.49mm dimensions and measure 167 grams. At present, there are no leaked renders of the Edge 40 handset.

The Edge 40 duo will run on Android 13 OS with MyUX on top. For security, both phones will come equipped with an under-display fingerprint scanner. Both devices will also pack other features like an IP68-rated chassis, dual speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos, an X-axis linear motor, and 5G.
