Vivo X Fold 2 has been confirmed to launch in April in China. The official confirmation has come from the company’s Vice-President for Vivo Products, Huang Tao. He revealed through a Weibo post that the X Fold 2 would be an all-rounder flagship device with a thin and lightweight construction.

As per reports, the X Fold 2 will not be the only product that will debut in April. Along with the X Fold 2, the company might also show off the Vivo X Flip, its first flip phone with a foldable screen, and the Vivo Pad 2 flagship tablet. The foldable smartphone recently appeared on AnTuTu benchmarks to reveal some of its key specifications. The device managed to dethrone the Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro+ to become the highest-scoring Android device on the benchmarking platform.

The Vivo X Fold 2 has shown up on the benchmarking platform with the model number PD2266 (V2266A). The device has been found to be equipped with a 120Hz display, 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and Android 13 OS.

In the CPU test, the Vivo X Fold 2 scored 288.246 points. In the GPU, memory, and UX tests, it recorded 579,982, 256,004, and 193,860 points, respectively. This way, the device achieved a total score of 1,318,092, which is higher than the Red Magic 8 Pro+ gaming phone’s score of 1,304,325.

Other reports have revealed that the Vivo X Fold 2 will have a 16-megapixel camera on the cover screen and another 16-megapixel snapper on the internal display. The foldable screen is said to measure around 8 inches and offer a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It will run on the OriginOS 3-based Android 13 OS.

The X Fold 2 will draw power from a 4,800mAh battery. The foldable phone is expected to support 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The rear camera setup of the device is expected to feature an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel Sony IMX866 primary camera, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX633 ultra-wide camera, and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 telephoto lens. Both displays will have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. It is speculated that it will be available in black, red, and blue colours.
