The first look of Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film, Bloody Daddy, has already started making a lot of buzz on social media. After having successful releases recently, the ace actor, who has proven his versatility over the years, is set for his next direct-to-OTT release. Below are the details

Bloody Daddy: OTT Release Details

The trailer of Bloody Daddy was released at the Jio Studios’ event on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, when the team announced the new slate of over 100 films and web series. Fans can watch Bloody Daddy at Jio Cinema on June 9, 2023.

While the date has been announced, makers are yet to share the details about the OTT platform. Meanwhile, the actors took to social media earlier in the day to share the first-look poster of the film.

Bloody Daddy: Cast and Crew

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, known for movies like Tiger Zinda Hai, Sultan, and Bharat, The star-studded cast of Bloody Daddy includes Ronit Roy, Sanjay Kapoor, Diana Penty, and Vivan Bhatena. The film has been jointly produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios, Sunir Kheterpal, Gaurav Bose, Himanshu Kishan Mehra and Ali Abbas Zaffar. The film is being made under Jio Studios, AAZ Films and Offside Entertainment banners.

Bloody Daddy: Teaser, First Look and Premise

The movie is an official adaptation of the 2011 French film Nuit Blanche and the original movie was earlier adapted in 2005, in the Tamil language, as Thoongaa Vanam starring the legendary Kamal Haasan. The first look poster features Shahid in an intense action avatar, with blood stains on the collar of his white shirt and an injury mark on his nose.

 

The film’s teaser was released at the Jio Studios’ event on April 12, 2023; however, it has not been shared on social media yet. Fans, however, have posted the teaser which can be viewed here:

Bloody Daddy: Message from the Team

Shahid expressed that he had a great time doing an action film and enjoyed working with Ali, who understood the genre very well. However, he also mentioned that if something of this scale is done on OTT, it creates a dilemma for the big screen, and they have to figure that out. The announcement of the film was made at the ‘Infinite Together’ event of Jio Studios, where more than 100 films and shows were announced, including Bloody Daddy.

Ali Abbas Zafar, who is working with Shahid for the first time, shared his excitement that people will see Shahid in an out-and-out action genre for the first time. He described the film as a cool contemporary action film with a beautiful story and a commercial pot-boiler.

Other releases from Jio Studios

The team at Jio Studios also released the titles of over 100 upcoming films and web series from the production house. Several popular names from Hindi, Bengali, Marathi and Gujarati film industries have been roped in for many new shows and films which will release from the Jio Studios’ banner. While the titles were revealed along with the cast and crew, the release dates and OTT platform details are yet to be revealed. Sharing the slate, Jio Studios’ social media accounts said, “Fasten your seat belts! From movies to web series, with action, romance, drama, comedy, thrillers and more, bringing stories in every Indian language for India & Bharat.”

Shahid was last seen in the web series Farzi, which was directed by Raj and DK. The crime thriller marked the digital debut of both Shahid and Vijay Sethupathi and streamed exclusively on Prime Video.
