Telugu language action comedy Meter, which was released recently in theatres across India, is now set to stream online. It is being said that after a not-so-good theatrical run, the film-makers have decided to stream it online. Below are the details

The film is directed and written by Ramesh Kaduri and produced by Clap Entertainment. The film stars Kiran Abbavaram and Athulya Ravi in lead roles, with Pawan in a supporting role. It features cinematography by Venkat Dilip Chunduru and Suresh Sarangam and editing by Karthika Srinivas. The movie was produced by Chiranjeevi (Cherry) and Hemalatha Pedamallu and distributed by Mythri Movie Makers. The film’s score and soundtrack were composed by Sai Karthik, with the music rights acquired by Sony Music India. All the lyrics in the movie were written by Balaji, while Sai Karthik composed all the music.

Meter: Trailer and Premise

The story follows Arjun Kalyan, a young man who hates the police department. His father is an honest cop, but Arjun believes that honest police officers will never be appreciated. He lies to his father, who wants him to become a police officer, telling him that he keeps failing the police training tests but eventually gets appointed. Arjun falls in love with a girl who hates boys and loves her. He gets into a deal with the Home Minister, Kantam Baireddy, who is corrupt. He agrees to leak information about a raid happening at his house if Baireddy removes his job. Baireddy successfully removes Arjun’s job but tells him to murder a guy who committed a crime. The movie revolves around who this guy is, what the murder is, and what it has to do with Arjun.

Overall, the film received negative reviews where the flaws in the plot, performance and other aspects were pointed out. Critics claimed that the film has a heavily derivative story and a truckload of unintentional humour. Some reviewers argued that the writing needs more imagination and coherence. Others claimed that Meter is a mediocre police action drama that is boring and unimpressive because of its routine and predictable story. However, a few reviewers on IMDb have given the movie a rating of 8.4/10.
