Vivo X Fold 2, Vivo X Flip, Vivo Pad 2 launched: Price, specifications, availability

Vivo X Fold 2, Vivo X Flip, and Vivo Pad 2 have been launched in China today. The Pad 2 is a flagship tablet from the brand, which will rival the likes of the Xiaomi Pad 6 series and OPPO Pad 2 in the Chinese market.

The Vivo X Fold 2 and X Flip are the new foldable phones from the brand. The X Fold 2 is the first-ever foldable smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It is the third X Fold-series phone after the Vivo X Fold and X Fold+, which were announced in 2022. The Vivo X Flip is the first vertically foldable phone from Vivo. It will rival the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, OPPO Find N2 Flip, Huawei P50 Pocket, and Motorola Razr 2022 in the Chinese market. Here is a look at the specifications, features, and prices of all three devices.

Vivo X Fold 2 specifications and features

Starting with the Vivo X Fold 2, the phone boasts an 8.03-inch inner foldable E6 AMOLED screen and a 6.53-inch outer E6 AMOLED display, both with a 120Hz refresh rate and an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner. The outer display offers a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels, whereas the inner screen produces a resolution of 2160 x 1916 pixels.

The X Fold 2 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a 4,800mAh battery. The foldable phone supports 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The rear-facing triple-camera setup of the X Fold 2 has a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel portrait camera. There is a 16-megapixel camera available on the cover and another 16-megapixel snapper on the inner display.

The Vivo X Flip, on the other hand, comes with a 6.74-inch foldable AMOLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution, a 21:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The 3-inch cover AMOLED display available on the phone’s back offers 682 x 422 pixels resolution.

The X Flip runs on the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 4,400mAh dual-cell battery with 44W fast charging. The device offers up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On the back, it has a round camera module that houses an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and an LED flash. For selfies, it has a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Vivo X Fold and X Flip offer connectivity features, such as dual SIM, 5G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-frequency GPS, dual stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C port. The X Flip has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Finally, the Vivo Pad 2 has arrived with a 12-inch LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 2.8K resolution. It is powered by the Dimensity 9000 chip with 8GB / 12GB of RAM and a 10,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.

The Pad 2 features an 8-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (macro) dual-camera system on the back. It comes with support for Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and Wi-Fi 6 but lacks support for cellular connectivity. It measures 266.03 x 191.6 x 5.9mm and weighs 585 grams.

The tablet comes with support for the Vivo Pencil 2 and a smart touch keyboard. All the devices will run on Android 13 and OriginOS 3. The Pad 2 will come with a tablet-optimised version of OriginOS.

Vivo X Fold 2, Vivo X Flip, Vivo Pad 2 price and availability

The Vivo X Fold2 has arrived in two configurations, such as 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. These variants are priced at RMB 8,999 (~Rs 1,07,450) and RMB 9,999 (~Rs 1,194,100), respectively.

The Vivo X Flip has arrived in the same configurations as the X Fold 2. Its two variants are priced at RMB 5,999 (~Rs 71,650) and RMB 6,699 (~Rs 80,000), respectively. The Vivo Pad 2 had arrived in four configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. These models are priced at RMB 2,399 (~Rs 28,650), RMB 2,799 (~Rs 33,450), RMB 3,099 (~Rs 37,000), and RMB 3,399 (~Rs 40,600), respectively.

The Vivo X Fold 2 comes in different colour options like black, blue, and red, while the X Flip can be bought in shades like black, gold, and purple. Lastly, Pad 2 will come in grey, blue, and purple shades. While the X Flip is expected to release in other markets, it is unclear whether the X Fold 2 and Pad 2 will be made available globally.
