Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 tipped to feature newer, faster Exynos processor

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is likely to feature a new processor, according to a report by Sammobile. The South Korean tech giant will hold its next major launch event in August this year. It is expected to see the arrival of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable phones. The same event is also expected to see the arrival of other products, such as the Galaxy Tab S9 series and the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup.

The rumour mill has been revealing key information about the Watch 6 series in bits and pieces. The latest leak talks about the performance boots that it will receive. The Galaxy Watch 5 series and Watch 4 lineup were powered by the Exynos 920 chipset. The upcoming Watch 6 lineup will be equipped with a brand-new Exynos chip, according to the new report.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series to feature the Exynos W980 chip

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro 

According to the publication, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series will be equipped with the all-new Exynos W980 chipset. At present, there is no information on the CPU and GPU details of the chipset. What’s known is that it will deliver 10 percent better performance than the W920. As per previous reports, the Exynos W980 could be a 5nm chip. The company may announce the new chipset in the coming weeks.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series key specifications (rumoured)

It is likely that the Galaxy Watch 6 will come in 40mm and 44mm sizes. The Galaxy Watch 6 series is expected to arrive with a larger OLED display that will offer a higher resolution and have slimmer bezels. In addition, the Classic variant of the smartwatch is expected to feature a rotating bezel.

The 40mm variant may pack a 300mah battery, whereas the 44mm variant may offer a bigger battery than its predecessor. The Watch 6 lineup will come with other features, such as WearOS overlaid with One UI Watch, multiple health tracking sensors like a heart rate sensor and ECG, GPS, NC, and wireless charging.
