Google Pixel Fold hands-on video

Shown above is a hands-on video of the alleged Google Pixel Fold. While the inner display crease is not visible, it is flanked by thick bezels on all four sides. A selfie camera is lodged in the top-right corner on the inside. The front side of the phone features a punch-hole display. Its rear design is not visible in the leaked video.

Google Pixel Fold specifications (rumoured)

According to tech analyst Prosser, the phone will feature two screens – a 5.8-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED cover screen and a larger 7.6-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED foldable screen with ultrathin glass. The outer screen will offer an aspect ratio of 17.4:9 and a pixel density of 408ppi, whereas its inner display will have a 6:5 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 380 ppi. When folded, the device’s dimensions will be 5.5″ x 3.1″ x 0.5″, and it will weigh approximately 283 grams.

The Pixel Fold is said to come equipped with the Tensor G2 processor, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB / 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Battery life is also a strong suit of the Pixel Fold, with a 4,500mAh battery that can reportedly provide over 24 hours of usage on a full charge. For robust security, the Pixel Fold will feature a Titan M2 security chip and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Pixel Fold’s camera system is another standout feature, with a triple-camera setup on the back and two front cameras, one on each screen. The rear cameras include a 48-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, along with a pair of 10.8-megapixel cameras for ultra-wide and 5x optical zoom telephoto shots. Meanwhile, the front cameras are 9.5 megapixels (outer) and 8-megapixel (inner).

Google Pixel Fold price, availability (rumoured)

The Pixel Fold will come in two variants: a 12GB + 256GB model and a 12GB + 512GB model. The former is rumoured to retail at $1,799 (~Rs 1,47,400) and will be available in Obsidian and Chalk colours, while the latter will cost $1,919 (~Rs 1,57,200) and only be available in Obsidian.

For those eagerly awaiting the Pixel Fold’s release, Prosser suggests that teasers may start to appear as early as April 26th, with pre-orders set to begin on May 10th (launch day). Carriers and Google’s partnered stores will then commence pre-orders on May 30th, and the phone will finally hit the market on June 27th. Excitingly, those who purchase the Pixel Fold will reportedly receive a Pixel Watch for free.
