Leaks of the 2023 Motorola Razr series have taken off in the past few weeks. We’ve also learned that the company may be going with a different branding strategy this time, with the high-end variant known as the Razr 40 Ultra, with its sibling being christened Razr 40, per tipster Evleaks.

The source also shared a deluge of new renders showcasing the Razr 40 Ultra in all its glory. We’re also getting a glimpse at customisation tools for the cover screen, though it’s unclear if this will support third-party apps. One of these leaked renders also hints at a Red variant of the Razr 40 Ultra, which could be a crowd favourite when it breaks cover. Check out the entirety of the leaked renders below:

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra rumoured specifications

Thanks to numerous leaks over the past few weeks, we’ve ascertained that the Razr 40 Ultra will pack a 6.7-inch OLED foldable inner display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ screen resolution. Meanwhile, the external screen measures a mammoth 3.5 inches, though its refresh rate and resolution are unknown right now.

Customers can also expect Android 13 to be running by default with Motorola’s My UX software overlay. Rumours point to a 3,640mAh battery on the Razr 40 Ultra with 33W fast charging included. Lastly, the phone should feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Rumours have also talked about a 60-megapixel selfie camera and three rear cameras — two 50-megapixel sensors and a solitary 12-megapixel unit.

The cheaper version of the Razr 40 Ultra should also make plenty of noise when it’s officially released. Although this device was initially believed to be known as the Razr Lite, Evleaks has put an end to those speculations, saying the Lenovo-owned manufacturer will go with the simpler “Razr 40” name instead.

Unlike its larger sibling, the Razr 40 should include a smaller cover screen, more in line with last year’s Razr foldable. The company aims to capture a significant chunk of the foldable market share from companies like Samsung and Oppo.
