Tamil-language 2022 release, Centimeter, which was released in May 2022 and had a fairly mediocre theatrical run, will now be streaming for the audience on OTT. An official announcement regarding the same was made by the OTT platform recently. Below are the details:

Fans can watch Centimeter on Simply South. The announcement was made on the social media channels of the OTT platform, with a message that said, “We cannot quantify our love for Manju Warrier! #Centimeter, coming soon to Simply South. Stay tuned!”

The Malayalam version of the film is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Centimeter: Cast and Crew

Directed by the eminent Santosh Sivan, the movie stars Kalidaas Jayaram, Manju Warrier, Basil Joseph, Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese and many others in pivotal roles. The score for the film has been given by Jakes Bejoy, whereas Gopi Sundar has given the music for the film. Cinematography has been managed by Sivan himself and Renjith Touchriver has done the editing for Centimeter. The film was released in two languages as Centimeter in Tamil and Jack and Jill in Malayalam.

The film revolves around Krish, a scientist, who returns home with the intention of completing his father’s dream project, Jack and Jill. Assisted by his friends and an A.I. humanoid named Centimeter, he establishes a laboratory within a sacred grove and commences human trials. His focus is on the subject Parvathy, but the experiment yields unexpected results.

Centimeter: Pre-release Buzz

The director in several media interviews mentioned that he derived the inspiration from his discussions with friends, who represented a diverse cross-section of society, including scientists at NASA, doctors, and engineers from around the world. Their conversations revolved around the history, current state, and future of artificial intelligence, which is increasingly prevalent in our lives.

Meanwhile, actress Manju Warrier has also sung one song in the film, the announcement of which created a lot of buzz.

The film received mixed reviews where critics referred to it as a poorly researched subject on AI and related science and also found flaws in the screenplay, performances, and other elements. However, a few critics mentioned that the subject could have been presented well for the children to understand the enjoy the film. Users on IMDb have given the film a rating of 1.5/10
