Apple Watch users are facing a weird green tint issue; Recent watchOS update could be to blame

The Apple Watch is comfortably one of the most recognisable smartwatches in the world today. But like any other piece of hardware, it is prone to the occasional bugs and glitches. Users on Reddit and other forum pages are voicing their concern about a green tint issue on their Apple Watch models (Series 8 or older).
However, the issue isn’t consistent with all wearers of the Apple Watch. While some are noticing a green tint, others are seeing a subtler grey tint. Based on the comments from the affected users, the issue surfaced after the recent watchOS 9.5 update.

As you can see from the image below, the green tint is more prominent when accessing the Control Center or the Notifications Center on the Apple Watch. It’s too early to speculate on what’s causing this particular bug, but until Apple has a decent answer, we’re putting this down to a software-related issue.
The folks at 9to5Mac posit that this bug could be quashed with a bug-fixing update in the near future, possibly in the form of watchOS 9.5.1. Notably, this bug doesn’t seem to affect the Apple Watch Ultra, which is a relief for customers of the most expensive Apple Watch model yet.
Apple Watch Series 9 and watchOS 10 are launching this year
The Cupertino-based manufacturer will reveal watchOS 10 and its features at WWDC early next month. However, the update won’t officially roll out to existing Apple Watch models until September or October.
Unlike Apple’s iPhone 15 series, the Apple Watch Series 9 has been kept tightly under wraps. All we know at the moment is that it will launch alongside the new iPhones in September this year. There’s also the possibility of an upgraded Apple Watch SE model to bolster the company’s hold in the mid-range smartwatch segment.
