Nothing Phone (2) key details officially confirmed

The above tweet has revealed that the Nothing Phone (2)’s display will be 0.15 inches bigger than Phone (1). This indicates that it will have a 6.7-inch screen. In all likelihood, it will feature an AMOLED panel that offers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The tweet states that Phone (2)’s will be 200mAh larger than its predecessor. Hence, it is confirmed to pack a 4,700mAh battery. Despite having a larger display and bigger battery, the Phone 2’s carbon footprint of 53.45kg is over 5kg lower than its predecessor.

The handset was recently spotted on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and Android 13 OS, which is likely to be overlaid with the latest version of the Nothing OS UI. Speaking of the OS, the company has revealed that Phone (2) users will get three years of Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates. The brand also confirmed that the Phone (2) is equipped with a 100 percent recycled aluminium frame.

Nothing revealed that the Phone (2) contains three times the amount of recycled or bio-based components compared to Phone (1). It incorporates 100 percent recycled tin on nine circuit boards, 100 percent recycled copper foil on the main circuit board, and over 90 percent recycled steel on all 28 steel stamping parts. Additionally, approximately 80 percent of the plastic parts are sourced sustainably. The Phone (2) will come in a plastic-free retail package that has over 60 percent recycled fibre. The manufacturing of Phone (2) has been made more environmentally friendly by powering its final assembly plants with 100 percent renewable energy sources.
