Jio, the telecommunications company backed by Reliance, has introduced a Bluetooth tracking device in India known as JioTag. Designed to function similarly to Apple AirTags, JioTag enables users to locate items using Bluetooth technology but at a significantly lower price point. By connecting the device to the JioThings app on their smartphones, users can conveniently attach the tag to their handbags, wallets, or any other possessions they wish to monitor. Weighing a mere 9.5 grams, the JioTag is remarkably lightweight.
JioTag Price and Availability
JioTag, the Apple alternative Bluetooth tracking device, is available for a price of Rs 749 on the Jio website, while the maximum retail price (MRP) is listed as Rs 2,499. This information was initially discovered by MSP. Additionally, select pin codes are eligible for cash-on-delivery as a payment option. In contrast, the Apple AirTag is priced at Rs 3,490 for a single tracker.
Jio provides extra value to customers by including an additional battery and a lanyard cable in the box. These accessories make it convenient for users to attach the JioTag to their belongings securely.
JioTag Features
JioTag, powered by a replaceable CR2032 battery, provides a year-long backup. JioTag, equipped with Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, provides a range of up to 20 meters indoors and 50 meters outdoors. This compact device serves as a convenient solution for locating misplaced items. Users can simply double-tap the JioTag to make their phone ring, even when it’s in silent mode.
Moreover, JioTag acts as a proactive reminder by alerting users if they accidentally leave behind essential belongings such as wallets or keys, providing the accurate location where they were left. The JioTag also incorporates the Community Find feature, which proves beneficial when users are unable to locate their belongings at the last disconnection point.
By marking the JioTag as lost on the JioThings app, users can leverage the Jio Community Find network to help track and report the precise location of the misplaced JioTag. Measuring 3.82×3.82×0.72 cm and weighing only 9.5 grams, the JioTag offers a lightweight and compact design.
