After a prolonged wait since its initial announcement on Independence Day 2021, the Simple One electric scooter has finally made its way to customers. Simple Energy, the company behind the scooter, recently unveiled the production-ready version in May 2023 and commenced deliveries on June 6. At a small ceremony in Bengaluru, 15 lucky customers received their Simple One e-scooters on the first day of deliveries. Simple Energy has set a target of delivering 100 units in the month of June, as confirmed by the company to Carandbike. The arrival of the Simple One marks a significant milestone for those who eagerly embraced the vision of this electric scooter back in 2021.
Simple One Electric Scooter Price
During the 2023 launch event, Simple Energy made a significant announcement regarding the pricing of the Simple One electric scooter. Priced at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom), the new price is Rs 35,000 higher than the initially mentioned price during its debut in 2021. However, the company did not provide clear instructions on how customers who booked the scooter could pay the remaining balance to complete their purchase.
Simple Energy has adopted a phased delivery approach and is currently only delivering to customers in Bengaluru. When questioned about the selection process for the first 15 units, the company explained that it reached out to customers based on their pre-booking priority, as stated in an email response.
According to a recent interaction with Carandbike, Suhas Rajkumar, the CEO and co-founder of Simple Energy, revealed that the company has received more than 1 lakh bookings for the One electric scooter. Rajkumar further stated that Simple Energy aims to fulfil all the orders within the next “8 to 10 months.”

Simple Energy has set ambitious targets for its growth and expansion. The Simple Vision 1.0 factory, situated in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu, has an annual production capacity of 3 lakh units. The company aims to achieve monthly sales of 50,000 units within the next two to three years. To support this goal, Simple Energy plans to introduce two more scooter models at lower price points by 2024.
Furthermore, the company envisions extending its network to cover 40-50 cities across India in the next 12 months, establishing a total of 160-180 retail stores. However, specific rollout plans for customers in states other than Bengaluru, who are eagerly awaiting the delivery of the One scooter, have not been disclosed by Simple Energy.
