  • CEO Daniel Ek reveals upcoming feature: “Your Offline Mix”
  • This new feature is said to offer a curated blend of recently played songs
  • It also enhances uninterrupted listening in low-connectivity scenarios

For a while now, the music-listening app, Spotify, has extended offline music streaming services to its premium users. In a recent tweet shared by Daniel Ek, the CEO of Spotify, it was revealed that the renowned music streaming platform is diligently working on a functionality referred to as “Your Offline Mix.” This forthcoming feature aims to provide users with a thoughtfully curated blend of recently played songs, ensuring an uninterrupted listening experience even in scenarios of low connectivity.

Moreover, Daniel’s screenshot revealed that the upcoming playlists could be as long as three hours. Interestingly, this feature will work even in flight mode and will be available for both Android and iOS users. Unlike the manual process of downloading songs for offline listening, this feature will automatically generate an offline playlist based on recently streamed content. However, it will be exclusive to premium subscribers.

Although there is no official release date yet, users can expect to enjoy their favourite songs and podcasts even without internet access. Currently, if you lose an internet connection while using Spotify, playback pauses until you regain access. Therefore, this new feature aims to fix that issue.
