Fans can soon watch Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix. The OTT platform and makers decided to announce the same at the recently held Tudum event, which was streamed online. Sharing the official announcement, the tweet shared by Netflix read, “Meet Aang, Katara, Sokka and Zuko in Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, coming 2024.”

The show will consist of eight one-hour-long episodes, made with a budget exceeding $15 million.

Avatar: The Last Airbender – Cast and Crew

Based on the original series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, Avatar: The Last Airbender is being developed by Albert Kim and features a talented cast including Gordon Cormier, Dallas Liu, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Daniel Dae Kim, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee. The captivating music for this series is composed by Takeshi Furukawa. The cinematography is handled by Michael Goi, Stewart Whelan, and Michael Balfry.

The show has been produced by Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore, Michael Goi, Roseanne Liang, and Albert Kim under the Rideback and Nickelodeon Productions’ banner.

In a war-torn world, Avatar: The Last Airbender follows Aang, the Last Airbender and the Avatar. He possesses the ability to bend the elements of water, earth, fire, and air. Aang’s mission is to restore balance and prevent the Fire Nation’s conquest. Alongside his companions Katara and Sokka, Aang embarks on a challenging journey to master the elements while being pursued by Zuko, the exiled Fire Nation prince.

Avatar: The Last Airbender – Pre-release Buzz

Presented as an enthralling blend of action-adventure, fantasy, and comedy-drama, this new iteration of Avatar: The Last Airbender aims to continue the legacy of the beloved series. Netflix announced a live-action remake of Avatar in September 2018, with production set to begin in 2019. However, the original creators, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko departed the series in June 2020 due to creative differences. This revelation came to light when DiMartino published an open letter on his personal website on August 12, 2020. In their letter, they mentioned disparities between their creative approach and Netflix’s vision, as well as an unfavourable working environment during their time with the studio.
