The series follows the lives of the Joshi family, a middle-class Marathi family living in Mumbai. The family is headed by the patriarch, Appa Joshi (Prashant Damle), a retired school teacher. Appa is a traditional Marathi man who believes in old values. He is married to Aai Joshi (Vandana Gupte), a homemaker who is more progressive than Appa. The Joshis have three children and are a close-knit unit. They love to argue and bicker, but they always have each other’s backs. Eka Kaleche Mani: Pre-release Buzz
The show’s announcement was made way back in mid-2022; however, the release was held for several reasons. Talking about the show and sharing more details, producer Mahesh Manjrekar, in a recently held interview, said that the subject of the show is highly relatable, especially for the audience today. The team wanted to showcase every parent’s desire for their children’s lives and the dynamics that keep changing daily. However, the essence of this show lies in the amusement it offers, as today’s generation possesses remarkable and distinct likes and dislikes, giving rise to conflicts and entertainment, thereby depicting the enjoyment derived from the clash between the old and the new.
