Samsung Galaxy S23 FE’s existence has been officially confirmed, according to a report by Android Authority. It is a crucial piece of news since the company hasn’t released an FE phone since the Galaxy S21 FE, which was announced in January 2022. The company skipped launching the Galaxy S22 FE, and there were reports that the brand would discontinue the FE lineup.
However, recent reports have been gradually revealing the key specifications of the Galaxy S23 FE. And finally, even a Samsung executive has confirmed it. In addition, the US variant of the device, which bears the SM-S711U model number, has emerged in the database of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). The listing has confirmed the wireless charging capabilities of the device. Furthermore, the listing also includes a live image of the phone.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE’s existence confirmed
According to the publication, during an interview, Justin Hume, the vice president of mobile for Samsung South Africa, was asked about the gap between the Galaxy A54 5G and the Galaxy S23. He responded by acknowledging that there is an FE-sized gap between the two models at present. However, he hinted at an upcoming announcement, suggesting that Samsung is planning to fill that gap soon.
Recent reports have revealed that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S23 FE in the third quarter of this year in some markets. It is expected to arrive in other markets in the last quarter of this year and the first quarter of 2024.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE WPC listing
The WPC listing reveals that the Galaxy S23 FE will support wireless charging, which is not surprising since its predecessors also offered the said feature. The WPC testing confirmed that the S23 FE is capable of offering 4.4W wireless charging. This does not seem to be accurate, as it is expected to support 15W wireless charging like the S21 FE. Shown above is the live image of the phone that has appeared in the WPC listing. It reveals a punch-hole display and buttons for volume and power on the right.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE specifications (rumoured)
As per recent reports, the Galaxy S23 FE will come equipped with the Exynos 2200 chip. It is unclear whether Samsung plans to launch the S23 FE with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 onboard in other markets. The device is expected to feature a 6.4-inch S-AMOLED display that offers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will pack a 4,500mAh battery with 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.
The Galaxy S23 FE will ship with 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and One UI 5.1.1-based Android 13. It will have a 32-megapixel front camera and an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel triple camera unit on the back.
