Apple iPhone 15 Pro series could offer up to 2TB of maximum storage

On top of all the hardware leaks and rumours about the iPhone 15 models, we’ve also come across info that Apple may be bumping the cost of the two upcoming Pro and Pro Max models by up to $100 (~Rs 8,200) in the US, which could trickle down to the rest of the world.

But we’re now learning that Apple may have a way to justify this possible price increase by offering more storage with the base models of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, which would now start at 256GB rather than 128GB as with the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max.

The information comes from a user named Red Lotus Technology posting on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, who went on to say that Apple will offer a new 2TB, whereas the iPhone 14 Pro series maxes out at 1TB. Separately, a South Korea-based blogger with the username yeux1122, also corroborated the addition of a new 2TB storage variant for the iPhone 15 Pro duo.

As GSMArena rightly points out, this practice of bumping the price in addition to the storage has been carried out for quite a while by the iPhone maker. It’s no secret at this point that the entire iPhone 15 series could witness a massive price hike this year across the globe, including India. The historic price increase for the Pro/Pro Max models in the US will also mean that Indian customers will end up shelling out significantly more for the iPhone 15 Pro.

For reference, the iPhone 14 Pro with 128GB of storage currently costs Rs 1,29,900 in India, while the 1TB version goes all the way up to 1,79,900. The iPhone 14 Pro Max, on the other hand, starts from Rs 1,39,900, touching Rs 1,89,900 for the most expensive version with 1TB of storage space. If these rumours about the price increase hold, we may witness the iPhone 15 Pro Max potentially breach the Rs 2 lakh barrier.
