Xiaomi Smart TV X Series First Impressions: Amazing Picture quality and sound in a budget price

In the post-pandemic world, the consumption of OTT is at an all-time high and demand for bigger-sized TV has witnessed a sharp upswing. According to a report by Counterpoint, “Consumers are preferring bigger screen sizes, especially 43”, due to which the smart TV shipments in this display size grew 29% YoY in 2022. This site has also started trickling down to the budget price range (Rs 20,000- Rs 30,000 or ~$243-$364).

In keeping with the demand trends, Xiaomi has introduced Smart TV X Series in India. These are smart TVs with 4K display and are available in four screen sizes: 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch. We have got the 65-inch version, and here are our first impressions of this TV. 

Xiaomi TVs are known to offer superior picture quality and bigger sizes at competitive prices. They have built on this core competency with its new Smart TV X Series 

  1. Design and build: This smart TV has a sturdy build and thin bezels. It looks attractive and goes well with the overall deco of the room,
  2. Picture quality: As mentioned, Xiaomi TVs are known for their picture quality, and this TV does not disappoint at that count. We have been using the TV to watch Netflix and YouTube, and the picture looks crisp and clear. The colour reproduction is sharp, and the viewing angles are great.
  3. Sound Output: Sound quality is a big pain point for most smart TVs. For the best sound output, it is always recommended to have an additional sound bar along with a TV. The Xiaomi Smart TV X series comes with a 30W and the in-build speaker are really good.
  4. User Interface: Having used a Mi Stick in the past, the UI seems familiar. However, we are looking to spend more time with this TV and understand how it flows. 
  5. TV remote: We also liked the remote that is being bundled with the device. It is compact with shortcut buttons to Netlfix, Amazon, YouTube and Disney+ Hotstar. It is responsive and easy to use.
