Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max mass shipments will commence this week: Analyst

There have been reports floating in the media about Apple facing supply chain trouble for the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra. This, in turn, has led to speculation that shipments of the top-end iPhone 15 variant may be delayed this year.

However, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has indicated that Apple could commence mass shipments of the iPhone 15 Pro Max as soon as this week. The analyst also goes on to contradict the popular industry opinion that shipments of the flagship will be weaker this year.

Kuo explains that despite reports of iPhone 15  shipments cutting down, mass shipments of the top-of-the-line iPhone will begin this week, indicating that Apple is on course for a smooth launch. Furthermore, the analyst says that Apple is also upping the shipments of legacy iPhone models “simultaneously.”

More broadly, Kuo predicts around iPhone 15 shipments to touch 80 million, with the figure reaching 250 million throughout next year, per the analyst. Samsung may face stiffer competition from Apple this year, Kuo adds.

“If Apple keeps the 2H24 iPhone orders unchanged, then the iPhone shipments are expected to reach 220–225 million units in 2023, surpassing Samsung as the largest smartphone brand,” the analyst went on to say.

While only time will tell if Kuo’s predictions will hold, what we do know for certain is that Apple’s next-gen iPhones will break cover on September 12. The manufacturer is likely to send out invites for the event in a week or so, thus putting an end to all the speculation and rumours surrounding the big hardware unveiling event.
