Fans can watch The Archies on Netflix on December 7, 2023. Details regarding the same were shared by Netflix on social media accounts. The announcement message read, “Hamari kahaani ka countdown shuru ho chuka hai. This is a daily reminder that The Archies arrive on December 7th. #100DaysToGo”

The team took to social media on June 11, 2023, to release the new poster of the show, introducing the audience to ‘Riverdale.’ The message read, “#TheArchies is coming to Netflix worldwide later this year! Follow the film’s official Instagram account @archiesnetflix now! #TheArchiesOnNetflix”

Sharing the details, Netlix India took to YouTube and released a video with a message that said, “The much-awaited Indian adaptation of Archie’s has been a dream come true for both the makers and fans! Watch Zoya Akhtar and Jon Goldwater talking about how this collaboration came to life.”

Presented as a comedy, drama, and musical, The Archies has been adapted by Zoya Akhtar and Ayesha DeVitre along with John L Goldwater. Zoya and Reema Kagti have produced the film under Tiger Baby Productions’ banner. In a candid chat with the writer of The Archies comic, Zoya Akhtar said that the film was set in a hypothetical town named Riverdale. Sharing more and quoting her, a report published online said, “It is super exciting to take these beloved characters and introduce them to a new generation but still keep the nostalgia of the original comic alive. We have set it in the Anglo-Indian community in India and can’t wait to transport you to the magical, fictional town of Riverdale.”

The film introduces many star kids to Bollywood, and this has not been appreciated by many Bollywood fans and viewers. Several comments were shared on social media about the same, blaming Zoya Akhtar for promoting nepotism in Bollywood and not giving a chance to other newcomers.
