OnePlus has officially announced the release date for its OxygenOS 14, which is based on Android 14. The company has committed to releasing a stable update with the new Android iteration from September 25 onwards.
It’s worth noting that Google has yet to release the final version of Android 14. Consequently, OnePlus may potentially delay its rollout schedule accordingly. Nonetheless, OxygenOS 14 is set to be among the first operating systems built on Android 14. Additionally, this update will introduce the “Trinity Engine,” a proprietary performance platform developed by OnePlus.
The Trinity Engine, as described by OnePlus, encompasses CPU Vitalization, RAM Vitalization, ROM Vitalization, HyperBoost, HyperTouch, and HyperRendering, all aimed at enhancing device performance.
OxygenOS 14 rollout timeline
OnePlus has not officially revealed a list of eligible devices and their respective update schedules. However, they are currently running closed beta programs for the OnePlus 11, OnePlus Nord 3, and OnePlus 11R, implying that these devices should receive a stable update shortly after the official announcement.
In a community post, OnePlus also revealed plans to start an open beta program for Android 14 shortly before the September 25th announcement. Additionally, they hinted at a closed Android 14 beta program for the OnePlus 10 Pro, which be announced in the coming days.
The timing of the OxygenOS 14 launch appears to align with the rumored release of the OnePlus Open, the company’s first foldable smartphone, suggesting an imminent launch soon.
