Highlights
  • Apple is offering a smooth new promotion for customers of a wide range of its audio products, including the HomePod and HomePod mini
  • The offer isn’t valid for existing customers of Apple Music, however
  • Apple is likely targeting Spotify subscribers with this new promotion

Apple arguably makes some of the best audio products, as evidenced by earbuds like the AirPods and AirPods Pro. The company is now offering an additional perk to prospective owners of AirPods or any other Apple/Beats-made audio device in the form of a free Apple Music subscription.

An Apple landing page details how new customers of Apple products (pictured below) can grab six months of Apple Music at no cost. Expectedly, this doesn’t apply to existing Apple Music subscribers and is a promo meant to bring over people from rival streaming service Spotify.

How to redeem Apple Music’s Six-Month Offer

The process is split into three by Apple, which we’re listing below:

  1. Ensure the iPhone or iPad you want to pair is on the latest software version
  2. Pair the newly bought audio product with an iPhone or iPad
  3. Open the Apple Music app on either device, sign in with the Apple ID of your choice, and the offer should pop up on the screen right away.

Apple notes that if the six-month offer banner doesn’t appear at this stage, users can head to the Listen Now page “where it will appear.”

Eligibility is fairly simple to understand, and so is the time new owners have to benefit from this offer. People who have recently purchased a new set of AirPods or any other product from the list will have “90 days after upgrading to the latest iOS or iPadOS” to reap the rewards of this promo. On the other hand, upcoming owners will begin their 90-day timer when they pair their product with a companion iPhone or iPad.

Apple Music subscription cost in India

Apple offers multiple subscription tiers for its music streaming service, starting from the Rs 49 per month Voice plan, an audio-only service meant for people on a budget. The student plan comes next at Rs 59/month, with the Individual plan costing Rs 99 each month, whereas the Family plan costs Rs 149 for the same duration.

Individual subscribers can save more by subscribing to Apple One, which brings together multiple Apple services, including Apple Music, TV+, iCloud+, and Arcade, in one convenient package. The Individual plan with 50GB of iCloud+ storage costs Rs 195 per month, with the Family option costing Rs 365 each month but with 200GB of iCloud+ storage.
