Apple iPhone 15 Pro RAM details finally revealed

Even though it’s been a few days since the arrival of the new iPhone 15 models, information on the RAM available in each new model is still unavailable. But the folks at MacRumors have obtained the info on the RAM of the new iPhone 15 models, thanks to some help from code researcher and developer @aaronp613.

While the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models continue to offer 6GB of RAM like their predecessors, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are revealed to be sporting an upgraded 8GB of RAM onboard. By comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro and the Pro Max only came with 6GB of RAM. These details were found within the Xcode 15 Release Candidate (RC), which went up this week.

This confirmation on the amount of RAM sporting in each iPhone 15 Pro model indicates that Apple is taking the Pro aspect quite seriously this time. In theory, the added 2GB of RAM should improve performance and efficiency, working in tandem with the new A17 Pro SoC.

As MacRumors points out, there’s no info on the type of RAM used on the new iPhone 15 models. However, we don’t expect this to remain a secret for long, given that the device will soon be put through multiple teardowns and other tests, fully revealing the components inside.

Apple iPhone 15 series up for pre-order today

Indian customers can pre-order their iPhone 15 models on September 15, beginning at 5:30 PM, with shipments commencing on September 22. In addition to Apple’s own retail channels, interested consumers can also purchase the new range of iPhone 15 models from e-commerce retailers like Amazon and Flipkart.
