The publication states the Pixel Watch 2 will feature a skin temperature sensor. Users will have the ability to check their skin temperature on demand, and previous readings will be accessible through the Fitbit mobile app. There is a possibility that the skin temperature sensor could be used for tracking menstrual cycles, similar to the Galaxy Watch 5 / Watch 6. An official render of the Pixel Watch 2 released by Google revealed the existence of an electrodermal activity (EDA) sensor. In all likelihood, it can be used for stress management and tracking.

According to the report, the Personal Safety feature of the Pixel Watch 2 will include three new features, such as car crash detection that will show core medical information on the screen so that emergency responders can take appropriate steps and Emergency Sharing for sharing location with trusted contacts. The third feature that will come to Personal Safety is the ability to schedule a Safety Check to check whether the user is okay automatically. If the user does not respond, Watch 2 will notify the user’s location to emergency contacts.

The report further states that Fitbit is planning to update its on-watch exercise user interface in conjunction with the Pixel Watch 2. The redesigned exercise interface will place a greater emphasis on making heart rate more visually engaging to motivate users to reach the desired target. Additionally, other elements will be resized for quick and easy reference, similar to the current design of Google Fit on Wear OS.

Initially, Google offered a translation app on Wear OS. However, it was later discontinued on newer Wear OS smartwatches. The report states that the search engine may bring translation capabilities to the Wear OS, starting with the Pixel Watch 2. However, there may not be a dedicated Google Translate app on the Watch 2. Instead, users will be able to use Google Assistant’s interpreter mode.

The above leaks suggest that the Pixel Watch 2 will be a major upgrade over its predecessor. While a lot of details about the smartwatch have already emerged, there is no information on its price. In India, the smartwatch will be sold via Flipkart.
