As the October 4th launch date for the Google Pixel 8 Series draws near, anticipation is building. Just days before the official launch, a significant leak has emerged, courtesy of 91mobiles, unveiling a treasure trove of specifications.

One standout revelation from this leak is Google’s commitment to offering up to an astounding 7 years of OS upgrades and security patches for the Pixel 8 series. This includes the potential for Android OS version upgrades spanning 5 years, followed by an additional 2 years of essential security updates. If these reports hold true, the Pixel 8 series could journey all the way to Android 21, setting a new benchmark for extended software support.

This move would place Google in an elite group, with only a handful of Android smartphone manufacturers, such as Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and OPPO, promising 5 years of OS updates for their flagship devices.
