The photos that we clicked with this shooter featured a high dynamic range and captured high amounts of detail in both highlights and shadows. We were extremely impressed with this mode, for when it was employed for the right scenes, it returned images worthy of hanging on our walls. In addition to all this brilliance, Hasselblad also brings to this device a set of three filters inspired by 3 photography masters. When used on your regular photographs, these can instantly add extra style and creativity to them.

For selfies, the OPPO Find N3 Flip relies on a 32MP IMX709 front camera that’s embedded into a punch-hole on the main display. As excellent as this camera’s performance was, we didn’t find ourselves using it often. That’s because the folding nature of the phone allows you to use its entire rear camera setup for capturing selfies. Just open the camera while the phone is shut, and it shows the viewfinder in the Cover Screen display. We could use the main camera to get stunning selfies or opt for the telephoto camera to get dazzling portrait selfies. For group pictures, we just had to switch to the ultra-wide camera, and that enabled us to include anyone and everyone in the frame. This entire experience is made awfully smooth and effortless by the high-quality Cover Screen, which we’ll talk about later.

A wide array of camera features is enabled by the Find N3 Flip in its half-open form. That’s the reason why OPPO calls it the Multi-Angle FlexForm Camera. One of the best implementations of this is the FlexForm Interval Shooting feature that lets you capture modelling shots of yourself without anyone being around you. Just open up the phone halfway and place it on a flat surface with the Cover Screen facing you. You can now experience hands-free photography and even direct the device to click photos at different intervals, so you have enough time to change your poses. And when you’re clicking someone else’s modelling photos, a dynamic Waist-Level Framing feature allows you to get the preview on the bottom half of the inner display, so you can capture waist-level shots without bending down. That’s not all, in its half-folded state, the phone even enables the DV Recording mode that lets you record videos while holding it the way you’d hold a retro DV camera. We have to admit, this feature did make us nostalgic by taking us back in time.

When travelling, we love to click long exposure shots and time-lapses. With this phone, we did not need to carry a tripod around, as the Find N3 Flip’s Multi-Angle FlexForm Camera was good for capturing all moods. All we had to do was place the phone down on a flat surface, and it steadily did its job. The final camera feature of this phone that we tested was Dual Preview. As its name suggests, before the image is clicked, it gives a preview to both the photographer and the subject. This way, the subject can check their poses, pouts, and smiles before giving the go-ahead. At first, it was the extreme versatility of this camera experience that awed us, but realising that the phone performs so well in everything it tries its hand at made us doubly impressed with its camera capabilities.

Innovation right where it is needed

Earlier this year, OPPO launched its Find X6 Pro to a rapturous reception, and it’s hence no surprise that it has used the handset’s design philosophy on the Find N3 Flip. This is glaringly visible in its Cosmos Ring camera cluster, which is framed by an intricate Starlight Track inspired by the aperture control rings found on professional cameras as if to allude to the pro-grade experiences that await users with the phone’s cameras. The Find N3 Flip’s construction is a brilliant blend of metal and glass, which feels so premium. The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC has proven itself to be among the best in the market right now, so it’s no surprise that the OPPO Find N3 Flip has adopted it. It brings with it a sophisticated charm that’s visible in the phone’s everyday operations. No matter how heavy the tasks we were running, the performance never faltered. During our gaming sessions, we didn’t notice any lag or performance drops, which is a testament to the robust nature of the MediaTek chip. Moreover, the 12GB of RAM onboard the device ensures that a next-level multitasking experience is also at hand. As for internal space, you can choose between 256GB and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

We expected this phone’s 4,300mAh battery to provide us with all-day usage but it definitely exceeded our expectations. Despite moderate to heavy usage, it would still have much juice left in it when it was time for bed. And we didn’t need to keep it charging overnight, either. The 44W SUPERVOOC_TM Flash Charge technology ensured that even short bursts of charging were enough to give the phone enough juice to last for hours on the trot. It takes just 23 minutes for it to go from 0 to 50 percent, while reaching 100 percent is just a matter of 56 minutes. Another great feature that highlights the Find N3 Flip’s robust performance is its 360-degree Surround Antenna that automatically adapts to your grip, meaning no dropped calls or signal losses. During our time with the device, we experienced neither of those two annoyances, which is an incredible achievement for the device.
