The most famous role Cavill played in the DC Universe was that of Superman in the Movie Man of Steel. In the following years, he starred in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Although Cavill played Superman in Black Adam, once James Gunn took over DC and started DC Studios, it was clear Cavill wouldn’t return. David Corenswet will replace Cavill in 2025’s Superman: Legacy.

Argylle 

Matthew Vaughn, who directed Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, and the Kingsman films, will direct Argylle, an action spy film. In the film, the actor plays a world-class spy with amnesia who is duped into believing he is a best-selling novelist. Slowly regaining his memory, the spy tracks down The Division, the organization he once worked for. Even though Argylle will be released theatrically, it will be AppleTV+’s first big-budget franchise.

While Cavill’s Highlander reboot has been in development for 10 years, more progress has been made recently. The movie will be directed by Chad Stahelski, who directed all four John Wick movies. Deadline had exclusively reported that Lionsgate is set to unveil a major fantasy reboot of Highlander at AFM, featuring Henry Cavill as the iconic Scottish swordsman and John Wick director Chad Stahelski at the helm. The highly anticipated project, boasting a budget exceeding $100 million, will kick off production in 2024, presenting a fresh take on the 1986 classic. Stahelski envisions the film as a sword-infused counterpart to John Wick, promising a thrilling cinematic experience. The original Highlander, with its immortal protagonists vying for supremacy, spawned multiple sequels and TV series. Cavill, renowned for his roles in Superman and The Witcher, leads the cast, contributing to the film’s buzz. With the AFM market eager for impactful releases amid the ongoing strike, this reboot, spearheaded by producers Joshua Davis and Neal H.
