Panasonic announces India’s first Matter-enabled AC, here’s when it will be available

Panasonic has unveiled India’s first Matter-enabled room air conditioners, powered by its innovative Miraie platform. Matter, an open-source connectivity standard, ensures seamless interoperability between smart devices, promising a more integrated and user-friendly experience.

Launching in February 2024, just in time for the Indian summer, Panasonic’s new ACs with Matter protocol will be available through all major outlets and e-commerce platforms. Consumers can control these ACs through the Miraie app, enhancing their connected living experience. Soon, Miraie users will be able to manage various smart appliances, solidifying Panasonic’s position in the consumer tech sector.

Mr. Manish Sharma, Chairman of Panasonic Life Solutions India and South Asia, highlighted the strategic integration of Matter with Miraie, simplifying consumers’ lives. Now, a Panasonic Matter-enabled AC can be controlled not only through Miraie but also any other Matter-compatible platform. This ensures cross-brand compatibility, allowing management of any Matter-enabled room AC through Miraie.

Mr. Manish Misra, Chief Innovation Officer at Panasonic Life Solutions India, expressed their vision of leveraging smart technology to improve consumers’ daily lives. Since its 2020 launch, the Miraie platform has been adopted by 70% of Panasonic AC users. After extensive testing, Panasonic is now proud to introduce India’s first range of Matter-enabled room ACs.

Mr. Fumiyasu Fujimori, Managing Director of PMIN, Panasonic Life Solutions India, emphasized their triple focus on innovation, sustainability, and customer experience. He stated that the new Matter-enabled ACs exemplify this commitment and empower customers with future-proof and efficient solutions.
