The Witch and the Beast Anime Announces Release Date, Characters, and More

According to reports, the anime adaption of The Witch and the Beast will air soon. Moreover, key visuals, cast members, and other details have also been revealed. This manga series is written and illustrated by Kousuke Satake and is translated into Japanese as Witch vs. Beast. The serialization began in November 2016, with the final issue of Young Magazine the 3rd publishing in December 2016. It then moved to Monthly Young Magazine.

There has been no return of the manga since it went on hiatus earlier this year. The manga is being published in English by Kodansha USA Publishing, and the 10th volume was released on February 28.

The opening theme, Soumonka will be performed by the progressive rock band Soko ni Naru, while the ending theme, Hikari no Trill (Trill of Light), will be sung by Yoshino Nanjō.

Takayuki Hamana, known for his work on Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, is directing the anime at Yokohama Animation Lab, while Hiroya Iijima, recognized for Afro Samurai, is in charge of character design, as previously announced.

The Witch and the Beast Storyline

In the beginning, there were 17 Origins whose powers were passed down to individuals throughout history. The eyes of a beast appear in the eyes of a girl with a coffin and a man carrying a coffin. The girl was cursed by a witch and is now seeking her in the hopes of undoing the curse. Could the witch they see before them be the quarry they are seeking? How can the curse be undone?
