Lava has launched its first Storm-branded smartphone in the Indian market. The brand has launched a couple of affordable 5G phones in the country, and the Storm 5G has also landed in the country with sub-Rs 15,000 pricing. The key highlights of the new phone include a 120Hz display, a Dimensity 6-series chipset, a big battery with fast charging support, and 50-megapixel dual rear cameras. The Lava Storm 5G has a 6.72-inch IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole design. The screen produces an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, 369ppi pixel density, and Widevine L1 support. It runs on a near-stock version of Android 13. The company has promised that Storm 5G users will receive the Android 14 OS upgrade as well as two years of security updates.

The Lava Storm 5G features the Dimensity 6080 chipset. It ships with 8GB of RAM and 8GB of virtual memory. When it comes to storage, the device offers 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage and a dedicated microSD card slot. It houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.

The Storm 5G has a 16-megapixel camera on the front. The back panel of the device features a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The Storm 5G is equipped with other features, such as a glass back, dual SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Lava Storm 5G is priced at Rs 13,499 (~$144) in India. However, initially, the device will be available at an introductory price of Rs 11,999 (~$162). The brand will carry out the first sale of the device on December 28th, 2023, via Amazon and the Lava e-store. The phone can be purchased in two colors, such as Gale Green and Thunder Black.
