Now You See Me 3 Development in Order

In May 2015, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer announced that the studio was actively developing a third film. The announcement was made in December 2016 that Jon M. Chu would be returning as the project director and that Neile Widener and Gavin James would co-write the script for the film, with Bobby Cohen, Alex Kurtzman, and Jeb Brody serving as its producers. Later, Eric Warren Singer came on board in April 2020 to rewrite the most recent draft of the script. Ruben Fleischer was hired as the director in September 2022, replacing Chu. Furthermore, the filmmaker hired Seth Grahame-Smith to write a revised script version. In November 2023, it was officially announced that the movie would be titled “Now You See Me 3,” and filming is set to commence in the upcoming spring.

During that time, it was announced that franchise writers Ed Solomon and Boaz Yakin had contributed to the script’s latest draft. Lionsgate has described this draft as a “reimagining” of the franchise.

When is Now You See Me 3 Going on the Production Floors

Talking to ComingSoon, Jesse Eisenberg revealed details about Lionsgate’s Now You See Me 3, his interest in the project, and his character. He said, “Yes, yes, yes. We’re supposed to do it early next year. I can’t wait. Unlike a movie like this, where my character’s experiencing such deep rage, anxiety, and depression, my character in that is so confident and is a performer and a showman, and it’s just a breath of fresh air, as an actor, to get to live in that kind of world too.” This statement confirms that production for the third film is in the works, and filming is expected to begin sometime between March and June of next year.

The Cast of Now You See Me 3

Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, and Lizzy Caplan are rumored to be reprising their roles from the previous films. As per reports, Benedict Cumberbatch will join the cast of Now You See Me 3.
