Reno 11 5G, Reno 11 Pro 5G to be first Oppo phones to arrive with ColorOS 14

OPPO has launched the Reno 11 series of smartphones in Vietnam recently. In India, the Reno 11 5G and the Reno 11 Pro 5G will be unveiled on January 12th, 2024. What’s interesting about the Reno 11 series is that it will be the first OPPO phone to arrive with ColorOS 14 onboard. Here are the official ColorOS 14 details that the brand has confirmed before the Reno 11 series arrives in the Indian market.

Just like the ColorOS 13, the ColorOS 14 offers an improved version of the Aquamorphic Design equipped with a color system, interactions, and sound effects. The ColorOS 14 offers ten sets of Aquamorphic-themed ringtones for phone calls, alarms, and notifications. In addition, ColorOS 14 has seven global UI sound options for a harmonious audio experience on the Reno 11 and 11 Pro. The new color system adapts according to the Reno 11 series’ status, time, and on-screen content. For a better interaction experience, ColorOS 14 presents users with features like bubbles, capsules, and panels from the status bar.

The Always-on Display feature of the ColorOS 14 named Homeland depicts scenes of wild animals, while the Go Green AOD dynamically reflects reduced carbon emissions based on users’ daily step counts, promoting awareness of climate change and environmental protection.

ColorOS 14’s Link Boost employs AI network selection and a 360-degree surround antenna design to ensure a stable signal with minimal downtime in scenarios like coming out of an elevator, in a fast-moving vehicle, or underground. The Smart Image Matting feature available in ColorOS 14 will allow users to effortlessly crop and edit multiple subjects, like people and animals, from photos or paused videos. The feature recognizes and accurately cuts out complex objects, making it easy to share or personalize wallpapers and posters.

File Dock in ColorOS 14 streamlines content management by allowing users to easily collect and share text, images, and videos from both system and third-party apps. Through simple select and drag gestures, users can gather content on the File Dock or compile it into a single note.

The ColorOS 14 also features the Trinity Engine, which includes ROM Vitalization, RAM Vitalization, and CPU Vitalization. The first one compresses apps and files to consume less storage space; the second one boosts multi-app efficiency by letting more active apps run in the background; and the third one precisely schedules power resources for best performance with less power consumption.

ColorOS 14, acknowledged by ISO, ePrivacy, TrustArc, and others, integrates Android 14’s privacy features in the Reno 11 Series. Introducing Picture Keeper, it empowers users to manage app permissions for photos and videos, with an ‘Ask every time’ option for precise control. Auto Pixelate, another ColorOS feature, allows pixelation of sensitive content in chat screenshots. ColorOS 14 also brings Snapchat integration with a lock-screen shortcut and a Shelf widget.

OPPO has also confirmed that the Reno 11 5G and the Reno 11 Pro 5G will receive three Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates.
