While Apple is said to be testing two clamshell foldables, these are far from the mass production phase, claims the publication. The report states that the company is in discussions with an Asian manufacturer for components required to build the foldable iPhone. There is a possibility that the device may enter the mass production stage in 2026. Both models are said to have different sizes.

The report also states that Apple is working on a foldable iPad featuring an 8-inch display. Currently, the engineers are working on reducing the display crease and developing a hinge that allows the device to lay flat when unfolded.

According to a report by The Elec, which corroborates news about the foldable iPad, it may debut in 2026 or 2027. Samsung Display and LG Display have reportedly provided Apple with sample foldable screens measuring around 6 and 7 inches. Initially, Apple may only use Samsung-manufactured display panels for its foldable iPad. A year later, the company may receive the foldable panels from LG Display.

In addition to the above devices, Apple is also said to be working on a foldable device featuring a 20.25-inch screen. This device might be branded as a Mac or iPad.
