  1. Open the Instagram app on your smartphone.

  5. Choose the Security option.
  6. Tap on the Security Checkup option.
  7. You will see four options: Password, Email, Mobile phone number and Two-factor authentication.
  8. Password tab: create a strong password for your Instagram account and hit the save button.
  9. Email tab: update your primary email address and tap on the Next button.
  10. Mobile phone number tab: update your mobile number and hit the Next button.
  11. Two-factor authentication: enable two-step verification and after selecting the method to get the verification code, tap on the Save button.
