Google Pixel Fold will be a heavier device than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, claims a new report by 9to5Google. The Z Fold houses a 4,400mAh battery and weighs around 263 grams. As per the report, the Pixel Fold will pack a larger battery, which will make it heavier than Samsung’s foldable. This indicates that the Pixel Fold may weigh around 270 to 280 grams.

The Pixel Fold is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2023. The company is expected to announce the Pixel 8 series in October 2023. According to the report, the form factor of the Pixel Fold appears to be similar to the OPPO Find N, which looks like a regular phone from the outside and offers a landscape orientation when it is opened. The new leak suggests that the Pixel Fold will be a bit wider than the Find N when opened. To be specific, the Pixel Fold will measure 158.7 x 139.8 x 5.7mm, as per a previous report.

Coming back to the battery of the Pixel Fold, the report suggests that its battery size could be between 4,400mAh and 5,000mAh. Hence, it appears that it will have the largest battery seen on a foldable phone. There is no word yet on the fast charging capabilities of the device.

Rumours have revealed that the Pixel Fold has a 5.78-inch AMOLED cover screen and a 7.57-inch foldable AMOLED display. The latter is likely to offer 1,840 x 2,208 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Google Tensor G2 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. It will come preloaded with Android 13 OS.

The Pixel Fold will have a 9.5-megapixel camera on the front and another camera with the same megapixel count on the top bezel inside. Its rear camera will comprise a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 primary camera, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 ultra-wide lens, and a Samsung S5K3JN1 telephoto snapper. The foldable phone is likely to be priced at $1,799 in the US and come in shades like Chalk and Obsidian. It is unclear whether the first-generation foldable phone from Google will be made available in India.
