The Xiaomi 13 Ultra case images show that it will have a raised camera island with a round-shaped camera module like the 12S Ultra. However, instead of a triple camera unit, it will have a quad-camera system. The camera module has some other cutouts, which could be for some sensors, a microphone, and an LED flash.

The top edge of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s case seems to have cutouts for a speaker grille, an IR blaster, and a microphone. Its opposite side has cutouts for a speaker grille, a USB Type-C port, and another microphone. The left side of the case seems to be barren, whereas its right edge seems to have cutouts for volume buttons and a power key.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra specifications (rumoured)

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra, according to rumours, will have an E6 AMOLED display with a Quad HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is expected to feature curved edges and a centrally aligned punch-hole. It is likely to run on MIUI 14-based Android 13 OS and feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

The SoC is likely to be accompanied by LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The rear camera setup may feature a gimbal stabilisation-enabled 1-inch, Sony IMX989 50-megapixel primary camera and a periscope zoom camera. All the cameras are expected to support phase detection autofocus (PDAF). The rest of the specifications of the 13 Ultra are yet to be revealed.

Xiaomi 13S series cancelled

In related news, Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the Xiaomi 13S series of flagship phones will not be released this year in China. For those who don’t know, the Xiaomi 13S lineup was expected to replace the Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro, and 12S Ultra that debuted in 2022.

In addition, the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro are expected to be released in the global market in the second of this year.  The Pro model is likely to get rebranded as the Redmi K60 Ultra in the Chinese market.
