  • The OPPO Pad 2 could launch this month or by the middle of April, per reports
  • Rumours suggest a larger screen over the first-gen OPPO Pad
  • The tablet could also feature a handful of other upgrades on board

The first-gen OPPO Pad arrived on the scene in February 2022, and we’ve been hearing about a successor making its way to the markets sometime in March or the middle of next month. More details have now emerged on the OPPO Pad 2 courtesy of Geekbench.

According to details published on the popular device testing platform, the OPPO Pad 2 could launch with the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Digging into the multi-core and single-core tests on Geekbench, the Pad 2 touched 3186 and 1160 when tested via Geekbench 6 while scoring 3079 and 899 for the same metrics on Geekbench 5.

On top of these statistics, the Geekbench listing also tells us that the upcoming OPPO tablet will run Android 13 out of the box, complemented by up to 8GB of RAM. Reports suggest that the OPPO Pad 2 could feature a larger screen than its 2022 sibling. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if the company sticks to the 11-inch screen we saw on the preceding model.

OPPO Pad 2 rumoured specifications

On top of the aforementioned octa-core chipset and a potentially upgraded screen size, reports suggest that OPPO may even offer features like HDR10+ and a crisp 144Hz display refresh rate paired with a 2800 × 2000 screen resolution.

Rumours have further hinted at a 9,500mAh battery on the OPPO Pad 2 with a whopping 67W fast wired charging support. If true, this would be a sizeable upgrade from the predecessor’s 8,360mAh and 33W combo.

OPPO Pad 2 rumoured price and availability

Considering that the Pad 2 is an upgraded version of the OPPO Pad Air, we can expect a premium on the price tag. This should translate to a price range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 per 91Mobiles. Reports dating back to December have revealed that the company would launch the tablet in the region by March or the first few weeks of April. So we may not have long to wait until we learn more about the OPPO Pad 2.
