The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 is said to weigh around 250g which is about 10g lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Apart from that, it is said to be a full millimetre sleeker thanks to the new hinge mechanism.

In an effort to reduce the thickness of their foldable phones, Samsung has opted not to incorporate an S Pen slot into the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5.

According to recent reports, Samsung has redesigned the hinge in their foldable phones, which is expected to be smaller and lighter than the previous version. This redesign will likely contribute to the weight reduction and elimination of the display crease issue that plagued the earlier models.

Moreover, it is expected that Samsung’s latest water drop-shaped hinge design enables their foldable phones to achieve an IPX8 rating for water resistance. This is a big plus for Samsung foldable, as most Chinese phone brands have struggled to provide an IP rating on their foldable devices.
