India’s first Apple Store opens in Mumbai this week: What you need to know

In a plan that has been in the works for over a decade, the first Apple retail store will go up at ​​Reliance Jio World Drive Mall, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, and is named BKC Apple. It will be open for business on Tuesday, April 18. The second Apple Store will launch in Delhi’s Saket. As per a Livemint report, the Saket outlet is almost half the size of its Mumbai counterpart while paying nearly the same rent.

In a statement published this afternoon, senior VP of retail at Apple, Deirdre O’Brien, expressed the company’s excitement about reaching this new milestone. “Apple BKC is a reflection of Mumbai’s vibrant culture and brings together the best of Apple in a beautiful, welcoming space for connection and community,” O’Brien said.

Stores will also offer free video sessions on Apple products

In addition to finding brand new iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads, Macs, AirPods, and a range of Apple accessories, these Apple Stores will provide free “Today at Apple” sessions to visitors. This gives the company the opportunity to market its products to store visitors while also enabling existing device owners to learn more about their devices.

Apple said it will hold a special Today at Apple sessions titled “Mumbai Rising” at Apple BKC from Apr 18 until the end of the summer. So the company has a lot of additional activities planned for visitors to its BKC store ahead of the big opening on Tuesday.
